What is a Folk High School?
A folk high school is a small community where students sleep, eat, attend classes, and live their daily lives together with a group of fellow students. Our students are primarily young people aged 18-24 who often use Aarhus Sports Folk High School as preparation for their future lives or education.
Your day at IHÅ
The mandatory classes, which include the different subject groups as well as assemblies and other activities, take place from around 8 AM to 4 PM, after which you have your own free time. Except for Wednesday evening, were the whole school attend Folk High School Night. On weekends, many students stay at the school, and you’re free to decide what you’d like to participate in.
Trips
While attending Aarhus Sports Folk High School, you’ll have the opportunity to join a variety of trips and excursions, both in Denmark and abroad. These include trips to Club La Santa, ski trips, outdoor adventures, and various specialized tours. We’re confident that we have a trip that will leave you with memories for a lifetime!
Facilities
With a location in Denmark’s most beautiful university city, just 4.5 kilometers from the shops and cafés in the heart of Aarhus, and connected to the Vejlby Risskov Sports Center, we offer facilities for almost any activity you can imagine. As a student at IHÅ, you certainly won’t be bored!
Food and kitchen
At Aarhus Sports Folk High School, we focus on providing quality food that complements the physical activities you engage in. When you’re active, you need proper energy sources that help build muscles and support good fitness.
