WHAT DOES IT COST TO ATTEND IHÅ?
Is it expensive to attend a Folk High School? No, actually it is not. You pay an amount to attend the Folk High School, which is calculated for every week that you attend the school. The Danish state subsidizes your Folk High School residency, so you pay less than you could have done for your time at IHÅ. Upon registration, you pay a registration fee, which must be paid before your place at the school is ensured.
A short time before you start at the school, you pay half of the price of your residency, and when you are half-way into your stay at the school you pay the other half. Together with your first payment, you also pay for a start-up pack and a payment to your materials account at the school, so that you are ensured the best start at the school and you do not have to think about unforeseen expenses.

ARE YOU FROM THE FAROE ISLANDS OR GREENLAND?
If you are Greenlandic or Faroese and between 18 and 25 years old, you can apply for the Commonwealth Folk High School Scholarship for your stay at a folk high school in Denmark. Read more and find the application form here.
ARE YOU FROM NORWAY?
If you are from Norway, you can apply for a grant for your folk high school stay through the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund. Contact the Norwegian Loan Fund: www.lanekassen.no

If a stay ends prematurely, we reserve the right to charge a fee of 3500 DKK. This is agreed upon individually before departure.
