cross your boundaries into the unkown
In the Folk High School Subject Horizon your horizon – as the name suggests – will be expanded. This applies both to life in general and in a more concrete sense. Here, you will have the chance to get to know yourself better while also looking out into the world across borders. We talk about where we come from and what has shaped us, and we dive into current topics in youth life, discussing them at eye level.
We also go on trips in Aarhus as a city of culture, visiting places that spark conversations such as: “Who are you, who am I, and what does the world around us look like?” In addition, we focus on Denmark and the idea of Danishness.
We work with both Danish and international dilemmas.
The teaching is in English, since Horizon is for both Danish and international students. This gives you plenty of opportunities to practice your English – without needing to master the language beforehand.
You can expect a mix of presentations, group activities, and excursions. We talk and discuss topics such as culture, traditions, and cultural history – from both Danish and international perspectives. All in all, this Folk High School Subject will broaden your horizon within a wide range of themes, dilemmas, and tasks.
