The central values at Aarhus Sports Folk High School are:
Homeliness, presence, respect, team-spirit and commitment.<\/strong><\/p>

We carry out regular surveys amongst our students concerning the Folk High School\u2019s core values. In this manner, we gain an assessment of which values are important to our students, and how we, as a Folk High School, perform in observing them. You can see the results of the latest survey, taken in 2024 below.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Homeliness<\/strong>: At IH\u00c5, homeliness means that we should feel safe and at home within ourselves. At the same time, home is something we create together, and we are conscious of our own role and responsibility in creating an open and inclusive environment where we see each other. Homeliness is also how we engage with others and invite people into our home\u2014where smiles, openness, and helpfulness define the atmosphere and the sense of joy that drives IH\u00c5.<\/em><\/p>

Presence<\/strong>: At IH\u00c5, presence means that we are aware of holding a part of each other\u2019s lives in our hands. Therefore, we insist on seeing, seeking to understand, being curious about, caring for, and listening to each other. We empathize with one another and see the person beyond the performance.<\/em><\/p>

Respect<\/strong>: At IH\u00c5, respect means that we make an effort to understand each other\u2019s different perspectives and viewpoints, acting with consideration and a positive mindset. We maintain decency and humility towards ourselves, so we can act with integrity. At the same time, we are aware of the responsibility for the IH\u00c5 of the past and the IH\u00c5 we leave for the future.<\/em><\/p>

Team Spirit<\/strong>: At IH\u00c5, team spirit means moving from “you and me” to a stronger “we.” We insist on making ourselves and each other better, recognizing that everyone contributes differently to the team and occupies different roles. EVERYONE is equally important for the collaboration to work and for the team to grow.<\/em><\/p>

Commitment<\/b>: At IH\u00c5, commitment means that we immerse ourselves and make a dedicated effort toward a cause, while also having the courage to put ourselves out there in relation to that cause. Courage and immersion complement each other, creating space for initiative and action, which we celebrate at IH\u00c5.<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In the spring of 2024, we measured the students’ assessment of our values: Homeliness, Presence, Respect, Team Spirit, and Commitment. A total of 142 students responded to the survey, corresponding to a response rate of 92.21%, which we consider to be representative.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Between 75.35% and 83.8% of the students assess that Idr\u00e6tsh\u00f8jskolen Aarhus lives up to the school’s core values to a “high extent” or “very high extent.” The management and board of Idr\u00e6tsh\u00f8jskolen Aarhus have decided that the goal is for a minimum of 80% of the students to assess that Idr\u00e6tsh\u00f8jskolen Aarhus lives up to the values to a “high extent” or “very high extent.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
