For you an ordinary day will most likely begin with the sound of your alarm clock a bit before 7am. Breakfast is served from 7am to 7:30 am and here you will find a delicious selection for a good start of the day. There will be fresh home baked bread, yogurt, cheese, juice, home made granola, fruit and so much more. If your team is on kitchen or common area cleaning duty your day will start a bit earlier, but don't you worry: All chores are rotated among the teams, so after one week of early mornings you can hit the snooze button again.
Our classes start at 8 in the morning and most days you will have your first break around 10isch. This is the time for the first snack of the day, a quick shower if you had an intensive workout in the morning and the classes that will follow. Lucky for you, we don't have common bathrooms, you and your roommate have your own private bathroom, so you won't have to waste you break time on waiting for a shower to become available.
At 12.30 we finish the morning's teaching and will all meet for lunch at 12.45. Like all meals served at the school, lunch is a daily pleasure, prepared by our very talented and enthusiastic kitchen staff. We always take advantage of the fact that everybody is gathered at the same place in the same time for lunch, to give you some short messages. After lunch you can enjoy a break. The breaks are an essential part of everyday life at IHÅ. They give you time to relax, to hang out with friends, to play games, connect with everybody at home through emails, facebook, skype and what else you might use.
At 1pm and some days 1:30pm we are all geared up fro the next round of classes (only exception here is Wednesday - every week after lunch all the teachers get stuck in a long and boring meeting and you have the full afternoon at your disposal)
Some days you will have sports in the afternoon, some days you will have the classes you have chosen when you first arrived. In the afternoon there is another delicious snack waiting for you - light and nourishing and most importantly: plentiful.
Until dinner at 6pm you can enjoy your free time in your own way. All the schools facilities are at your disposal until 11pm every day, so you can practice with your band, get an extra workout in our fitness centre, practice your dancing routine, create something in our art room...
After your hot supper the evening is all yours. The ambitious students might train in a local club in addition to all the training here at IHÅ, but there are other options to enjoy some more sports_ You can watch Championsleague on the big screen, enjoy the company of your friends at school, go downtown for a night out, go to the movies, the theater or to a game at Stadium, with the football local club AGF. We often get free access to handball and basket matches and we get discounts on tickets to some great football matches, Aarhus offers plenty of entertainment for you!
On the weekends you and your fellow students might organize a cafe where you can have a nice drink, such as a Breezer, for a very favourable price. And when there is a Live Café IHÅ is filled with the unmistakable scent of talent!
The days go by - they seem so similar, but still they all are unique and time seems to fly! Your time at IHÅ will be the best time of your life - so enjoy it and create all the memories you will treasure for a lifetime!
